Cerro d' Águia, Algarve - Resort Guide

Cerro d'Águia is a residential area located in the outskirts of Albufeira, and its name means Eagle’s Hill, probably because its elevated position allows for a birds eye view of the beautiful surrounding area. From here you can enjoy the amazing far reaching panoramic views from Galé across São Rafael, all the way to the Albufeira Marina, with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.

Albufeira is known for its fantastic sandy beaches and sizzling nightlife with many restaurants, bars and exciting nightclubs. Here the colourful and modern marina contrasts with the Albufeira’s old town traditional whitewashed houses and narrow cobbled streets, lined with restaurants, bars, cafés and shops. If you are looking for further nightlife entertainment, you should head towards the “Strip” located near Oura beach, considered by many the hub of Albufeira’s nightlife scene.

There are many stunning beaches within a short drive, both to the east and west of Albufeira such as Balaia, Castelo, Falésia, Galé, Olhos de Água, Maria Luisa and São Rafael, just to name a few of the more than 20 family friendly beaches Albufeira has to offer.

A 10 minute drive inland will take you to the charming village of Guia, popular for its chicken piri-piri restaurants, and the Algarve Shopping, a modern shopping centre with an excellent range of shops, cafés and restaurants. You can also enjoy the dolphins, seals and sea lions shows at the nearby ZooMarine ocean park.

Salgados is the nearest golf course, only 5 minutes drive away, but within a further 20-30 minutes drive, you will find some of the best golf courses in Europe, located in Vilamoura to the east, and in Alcantarilha to the west.
