Galé, Algarve - Resort Guide

Galé is a family friendly beach resort, known for its long stretch of golden sand to the west, and the lovely coves surrounded by limestone cliffs, on the east side. The resort has grown increasingly popular over the past few years and offers many good restaurants including a Michelin awarded restaurant, a number of beachside bars, several cafés, mini-markets and a large supermarket. Most of our Galé villas are in quiet residential areas, and some are within walking distance to the beach and other local amenities.

The nearby resort of Albufeira, known for its fantastic sandy beaches and sizzling nightlife, is only a few minutes drive away. Both the Old Town and the Oura Strip in Albufeira, provide for all the entertainment and amenities expected in such a popular holiday resort.

Albufeira offers a beautiful contrast between the Old Town’s traditional whitewashed houses, and narrow cobbled streets lined with restaurants, bars, cafés and shops and its colourful and modern marina on the western side of town.

A 10 minute drive inland will take you to the charming village of Guia, popular for its chicken piri-piri restaurants, and the Algarve Shopping, a modern shopping centre with an excellent range of shops, cafés and restaurants. You can also enjoy the dolphins, seals and sea lion shows at the nearby ZooMarine ocean park.

The keen golfer will be happy to have a golf course within 5 minutes drive, but within a 20-30 minutes drive, some of the best golf courses in Europe can be found in Vilamoura to the east, and in Alcantarilha to the west.
