Vale do Lobo, Algarve - Resort Guide

Vale do Lobos history dates back to the late 1960s when the first luxury hotel in the Algarve was built, and it has since grown to be an exclusive beach side resort that offers endless facilities and services in one unique location. The resort comprises of mainly private villas, hotels and a few select apartments, accessed through a network of narrow roads (most are one-way), under the soothing shade of mature pine trees. Another distinctive trademark of Vale do Lobo are the ochre cliffs by the beach, which are complemented by the golden-white sands that stretch all the way to Quinta do Lago on the east and Quarteira to the west.

Popular among golfers, Vale do Lobo offers two distinctive championship golf courses: The Royal and The Ocean, Sir Henry Cottons last course design. Further golfing options can be found both in the neighbouring Quinta do Lago and in Vilamoura, only 15 minutes drive away from Vale do Logo.

Tennis is another big sporting draw too, with its excellent tennis academy which hosts a Masters Competition each year with some of the big name veterans from the tennis world.

Those looking for a more laid-back holiday will love the fine dining options available in the many restaurants both in Vale de Lobo and the nearby resort of Quinta do Lago, only 5 minutes drive away, or in Almancil.

Vale do Lobo is definitely great place to relax and enjoy the Algarvian sun, whilst indulging in the privacy of your villa.
